“She will give birth to a son, and you are to name Him Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.” (Mathew 1:21, HCSB)

WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying of Hong Kong (southeastern coast of China).

DEAF PEOPLES - Chan* is a Deaf teenager who has been meeting with a group of Deaf who are learning Bible stories. He grandfather recently died, so he took a bus to visit his family, who live in a remote city. When Chan arrived at his destination, it was late at night. He saw only one little grocery store that was opened and walked to the store. He asked the owners for help in calling his relatives on their phone. They suspected Chan was a dangerous person and closed the store in his face. Leaving the store, he became upset. A thought came to him. “God, what am I to do? Please send somebody to collect me.” A few minutes later, a friend on a scooter came to help him. He was amazed that God had answered his prayer and provided him transportation! Pray for Chan as he continues to seek to know God. Pray that he will know the One who is the true provider of his heart’s needs. (*pseudonym)

MALI - Thank you all for praying for Mali for over a year. During that time, there has been a coup, war, assistance from other military personnel coming in, and elections. Mali is not the same country that one worker was called to more than13 years ago. In some ways her heart aches for the old Mali, but she knows that God has a plan and it is not to harm us but to give us hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). As she returned to Mali after being way for several months, what was so abnormal when she left seems to be the norm now. Driving down the street, there is a military presence on more corners than before, there are more police visible in highly populated areas, United Nations trucks are seen driving around the city, and the walls surrounding government buildings have been improved to withstand attacks. It’s a different Mali indeed, but one that still needs Jesus. Please continue to pray for Mali and for its recovery as a nation. Pray that the believers there will humble themselves and cry out to the Lord, and that He will hear and come and heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14).
