| Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST December 6, 2013 "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning." (James 1:17, NKJV) WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for Prime Minister Samuel Hinds of Guyana (northern South America). SOUTHEAST ASIAN PEOPLES - “Workers ultimately serve at the pleasure of the Lord, but also with the permission of their host country. Prayers for access are a constant need among workers in the least-reached areas of the world. Most of the workers on our island are struggling with visa or ministry difficulties in one form or another. Do pray for resolutions to these challenges, but there is more that needs your prayer. Pray that these difficulties will not distract workers from ‘main-thing’ tasks. Pray against discouragement, as visa and ministry difficulties in many cases are chronic, long-term issues. Pray for workers to have deep times of personal prayer and study of God’s Word that will buoy their faith when Satan begins to whisper that it is too difficult and they should just give up and go home. Pray that in the midst of visa problems, workers will experience the joy of seeing people from their people group hearing the Gospel and coming to faith. Pray for workers on our island to press on and not lose heart.” SUB-SAHARAN AFRICAN PEOPLES - “God is answering prayers and opening hearts and ministry across the region of our East Africa Cluster. Praise Him for reports that have come in of new believers among some of our hardest-to-reach people groups! Many hearts are open and are seeking hope following the terrorist attack in Kenya. In seeking help from all the emotional and physical loss, many are getting to hear for the first time about the one true Healer. Unfortunately there is a lot of opportunistic crime that is happening, as the focus is more on national security at this point. Please pray for wisdom and peace among the national believers and the missionaries alike. As the Christmas season is upon us, pray that each one of God’s sent ones will be ambassadors of His peace.” For additional prayer requests, click here: Today’s Prayer (If you have difficulty with this link, please go to www.imb.org and click on the “Pray” tab, and then click on the “Today’s Prayer” link in the left-hand column.) |
