How to GO on a Mission Trip

If you have prayed about going on a mission trip and you sense that God is leading you to travel you will need to budget for your trip. If you have your passport and have been saving in your personal Mission Savings Account you are ready to go! This scenario is the preferred situation for planning on participating on a mission trip.

If, however, you are a student and needing to raise some money there are some things you need to know. The tax laws concerning charitable giving allow for some tax relief contribution and prohibit others. Contribution
  1. Missional Living – If you begin to live your life on mission you begin your missions training by being a missionary at home. You can start now. You will not have to budget for travel because your mission field is your own neighborhood, your own school, your own workplace, and your own life situations.
  2. Individual or Family Trip – Tax deductible contributions for individuals and specific families are not permitted to be made through your church. You should check with the mission destination organization to see if they have a tax deductible option.
  3. Group Trips – If there is a trip that has been planned and sponsored by the New Beginnings Church then tax deductible contributions can be made to the trip on behalf of the missionary.
