“And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, commit to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” (2 Timothy 2:2, HCSB)

Hi, this is Eleanor Witcher of IMB’s prayer office, encouraging you to pray for national workers.

Two believers made plans to meet brother W to form a new partnership in reaching a focus county in China. The Lord had something else planned, as W needed help moving that day to another county’s factory dorm. Approaching lunchtime and since they were in a new county, they asked a security guard, ‘‘Excuse me, but are there any good restaurants out here?” They got directions and then they found themselves on a road full of restaurants, just blending together. But one sign stood out to the three of them: The Gospel Restaurant. Were the owners believers too? “Let’s eat there and find out.” It turned out that they were a whole family of believers--generations worth. In this new county, there are no known churches. It has 20 factories and tens of thousands of people yet to hear the Gospel. The owners were open to and excited about the idea of having training sessions held in their restaurant.

Simon* is a faithful Azeri believer who often shares his faith with others. He has started Bible study groups in various locations and works hard at the task of distributing copies of Scripture. Three mature believers have each spent a great deal of time teaching Simon God’s Word and training him to carry on the work of evangelism, discipleship and church planting. In turn, Simon has helped his friend, Alexander*, start a church in his home. Now Alexander is beginning to train Perry*, a young believer in his church.

* Please pray that many more such chains of faithful men and women teaching others will be formed, and that the Gospel will spread exponentially throughout the area.

* Pray for wisdom, understanding, protection, compassion and love as plans are made to reach this new Chinese county.

* Express thanks to the many faithful men and women in your church who teach the Gospel of Jesus.
