Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST February 24, 2015 “You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” (1Peter 2:9, HCSB) WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2, NKJV). Please pray for President Mahamadou Issoufou of Niger (western Africa, southeast of Algeria). ISAAN OF THAILAND (EE-sahn) - Officially Thai people have the right to belong to any religion they choose. However, the reality is that there is real pressure--both overt and covert--on Christians from family members, co-workers and neighbors to give up their trust in Jesus. Following Christ in Isaan is difficult! Those who stand firm and continue to follow the Lord are a tremendous testimony to other believers. Please pray that Isaan Thai Christians will stand firm in Christ and influence many others to do the same. Pray that Isaan believers’ lives will draw more people to worship and relationship with Christ. SUB-SAHARAN AFRICAN UNENGAGED PEOPLES - Historically seen as savage and inferior, even today, because of the degree of isolation in which they live, the Amba (pronounced AHM-bah) remain a people of disregard. Living on the border between Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), their villages dot the small landmass connecting Lake Edward and Lake Albert, one of the poorest areas in Uganda, and they exist by hunting and subsistence farming. Amba culture dictates the appeasement of ancestor spirits, so offerings are made to dead relatives in order to ward off a curse or ensure a good harvest. Pray for God’s supernatural intervention in the lives of the Amba people of Uganda and the DRC so that their eyes will be open to “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). Pray that God’s call to witness and minister among the Amba will be heard and obeyed by those to whom He is speaking.
