“In the same way faith, if it doesn’t have works, is dead by itself.” (James 2:17, HCSB)

Hi, this is Eleanor Witcher of IMB’s prayer office, joining you in prayer for students of theology.

“I have a vision,” says the young theological student who has left a fruitful ministry to be trained in accurately handling the Word of God. His heart remains with the marginalized, the outcasts. “I need a great deal of money”--and names a sum that is unheard of in the West, and even more so for a Christian worker in Sri Lanka. His vision is to create work opportunities for “the poorest of the poor,” while sharing with them the love and grace of Jesus Christ. “This week I am taking the first step,” he says, trusting in faith that God will make a way as he walks in obedience. There are many young men in training at the theological seminary.

The Longido Association and the Maasai of Tanzania Team is reestablishing a Bible School in the Longido district. The national leader for Baptist Bible Schools in Tanzania and approximately 10 men who are leaders in the Longido area met in late 2014 to settle plans to start classes last month.

A member of a minority group in Seoul, Korea, has completed his theological training and has started a new church. He is having difficulty finding support from the broader community. The majority of the church members are young adults who are either in school or seeking employment.

* Please pray for the leader of this new church in Korea, asking that he will be able to find more supporters from the local faith community.

* May God bless the reestablished Bible School in Tanzania and all the students in Sri Lanka with a passion for reaching the unreached with the gospel.

* Intercede for recent seminary graduates here in the U.S., asking the Lord to provide their needs and strengthen their faith as they step into His plan for their future.
