Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST February 9, 2015 “I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.” (1Timothy 2:8, NKJV) WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2, NKJV). Please pray for Premiere Reuben Meade of Montserrat (island in the Caribbean Sea, southeast of Puerto Rico). MONGOLS OF OUTER MONGOLIA (MON-gols) - The traditional celebration of the Mongolian New Year, February 18-21, includes many Tibetan Buddhist and Shamanist rituals; therefore, as the holiday approaches, many Mongolian Christians will choose not to participate in the festivities, while others may give in to the pressure from family and friends to carry out the traditions. Ask the Lord to give Mongolian Christians creative ideas and God-glorifying ways to incorporate different aspects of their culture into their celebration of the New Year. Pray that they will boldly stand up for Jesus and give a clear testimony of their faith to those who question or even persecute them for not following the Shamanist and Tibetan Buddhist traditions. SRI LANKA - The Sri Lankan tea estates depend on the cheap labor of the Tamil families who live in their estate housing. The families survive on the meager wages supplemented by their own gardens, growing beans, carrots, leeks, peppers and tomatoes on the steep terraces outside their longhouse. In an effort to retain the young people who hanker for the prosperous city life, the schools are compromised and education undermined, leaving the young graduates without options. One young man caught in this web is setting his heart not on the riches of this world beyond his borders, but on the riches of the kingdom of God and the hope found in Jesus Christ. He gave his life to Christ as a small boy when a pastor with a passion to reach these unreached estate workers traveled to his village and shared the gospel with his family. Weekly he joins with this pastor in visiting his neighbors door to door, sharing the gospel with them. Although he is only 15, he is teaching Sunday School for the smaller children. The national pastor asks for prayer for this young man. His vision is to see him mature into a godly pastor for a church they are planting in this tea estate.
