| Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST February 19, 2014 “In an acceptable time I have heard You, and in the day of salvation I have helped You. In the time of my favor I will answer you, and in the day of salvation I will help you.” (Isaiah 49:8a) WORLD LEADERS - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for President George Abela of Malta (islands in Mediterranean Sea, south of Italy). BALOCH OF CENTRAL ASIA (buh-LOHCH) - Pray that this year, the Baloch will long for freedom from sin and shame rather than freedom from any government or rule. Pray also that as the political turmoil of the region rolls on around them, doors will be opened for the Gospel to be made known powerfully among them. FUTA TORO FULANI OF WEST AFRICA (FU-tah TOH-roh fu-LAH-nee) - Today . . . put yourself in the place of a believer in this culture. Your new faith has cost you your job. It’s difficult to find work because everyone knows you have renounced the dominant religion. You are considered to be an infidel. Since every holiday and celebration revolves around the old religion, where do you fit in and how do you participate? It has strained relations in your family, and you are no longer welcome to share meals and activities or perhaps even sleep in your old home or have access to your belongings. Maybe your wife and children have been taken away from you because of this radical decision. It feels pretty lonely. You hear that there are a few other believers nearby, but you must be discreet in approaching them. There is no central, safe place to meet together. What does worship look like now? How are these new holidays like Christmas and Easter celebrated? There are no spiritual leaders to go to and ask all the questions that fill your mind about this new faith. Praise God for believers who count the cost and know beyond all doubt that this new peace they have found is worth it!
