“I pray that you, being rooted and firmly established in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, height and depth of God’s love, and to know the Messiah’s love that surpasses knowledge.” (Ephesians 3:17b-19a, HCSB)

Hi, this is Eleanor Witcher of IMB’s prayer office, joining you in prayer for true love.

In Beijing, China, young couples can be seen walking hand in hand. Many are searching for “The One” who will bring them joy and contentment, at least for a time. The influence of the West, through television and other means, can be seen in the younger generation, as many couples choose to live together without marriage. There is also the pressure from aging parents to have a child to carry on the family legacy.

In odd contrast to what we usually think about their cultural traditions, many Tunisians celebrate Valentine’s Day. Stores decorate their windows with hearts and have sales on candy and other sweets. There are musical concerts, and flower sellers have one of their busiest days of the year. This holiday offers opportunities for Tunisian believers to share about God’s eternal love.

Love isn’t understood the same way in many parts of Africa as it is in the United States. Most Fulakunda marriages are arranged, and there are men who simply do not provide for their wives. Jennifer’s* husband does not care for her and she is seeking God’s love. Eve* recently joined herself to a believing family with the consent of her husband. She is studying the Bible as she prepares for the birth of her baby. Hannah* is reading and learning about the Lord, but has not yet decided to follow Jesus.

* Please pray for these three Fulakunda women as they seek the Father, asking that they will come to know His love and find joy in their marriage relationships.

* Intercede for Tunisians to come to know the overwhelming love of Christ Jesus through the testimony of courageous believers.

* Ask the Lord to guide His followers in China to demonstrate godliness in their relationships and be faithful witnesses of His love.
