| Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST February 21, 2014 “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11) WORLD LEADERS - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for President Christopher Jorebon Loeak of Marshall Islands (midway between Australia and Hawaii). UKRAINE - Please intercede for the people of Ukraine, as conflict has intensified over the past few days in the capital city of Kiev. While a truce has been declared this week, tensions remain high in many areas of the country. Pray for all those in authority, asking that the Lord will grant them wisdom and discernment as they seek to find a resolution without further bloodshed. Petition the Lord to use the uncertainty of these days to cause the hearts of multitudes to seek Him as their source of hope and peace, and to grant followers of Jesus many opportunities to share the hope and peace of Christ with those whose hearts are fearful and hopeless. SENUFO SUPYIRE OF MALI (SIN-oo-fo su-PEER-ay) - “Some of Jesus’ words that comfort me most are, ‘Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest’ (Matthew 11:28). As I think about our people, there are many burdens they carry and many tasks that drain them. Most women work steadily from before sunup until 10 o’clock at night, pounding food with a heavy pestle, hauling large quantities of water on their head, bending over a basin and washboard to clean clothes, and cooking over an open fire in stifling heat. They also work alongside the men and their children in the fields, plowing, planting, weeding, harvesting and processing crops by hand, since there are few machines available and fewer people who can afford them. Aside from the physical burdens, there’s the mental burden of figuring out how to take care of a large family with many sicknesses and only enough food and money to get by. Spiritually they may be burdened, thinking that if they just do enough good, obey all the rules, or avoid offending the spirits and ancestors, they may be allowed into paradise. Like all people, they are heavy-laden with sin and the fact that they can do nothing about it. Please pray that the Senufo Supyire will recognize that Christ took their sin upon Himself. Ask the Lord to convict them and lead them to put their trust in the only One who has overcome all of life’s burdens and who can give them true, lasting rest.” TUAREG OF THE SAHARA DESERT (TWAR-eg) - In a large open area on the outskirts of town lives Zeinabou*. A family of believers went to her house, asking how they could pray for her and her family. After they prayed for health for Zeinabou’s family, the Gospel was presented. Zeinabou tried and tried to understand and wanted to continue to hear more, but she said that she could not understand the language well enough, as her household primarily spoke another African language. As the family left Zeinabou’s house that day, they prayed that God would open her eyes to see and her ears to hear. Please pray for Zeinabou and others like her to have open eyes and ears to truly hear and believe the Good News that is being shared.
