| Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST February 24, 2014 “Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; nor His ear heavy, that it cannot hear.” (Isaiah 59:1) WORLD LEADERS - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for Prime Minister Moulaye Ould Mohamed Laghdaf of Mauritania (northern Africa, between Senegal and western Sahara). YEMEN - Pierre Korkie was taken hostage by Al Qaeda in Yemen. Al Qaeda is threatening to kill him if they do not receive a huge ransom. Several deadlines have come and gone. He is still alive but is in very poor health. Pray that God will sustain him and his family and that He will provide a way to free Pierre. LAST FRONTIER - Workers are always asking for guidance and creativity in reaching out in a new way or a new area in order to meet people and share Truth. Some workers have started going to a local immigration office each week to share Truth with a specific group of people they are seeking to work with. Pray that they will find many who will respond to their offer and want to know more. Pray that they will also find those within this specific people group who are already believers and who can partner with them and encourage them in this work. SOUTH ASIANS OF CANADA - “Hey, Manny*, let me tell you about the armor of God!” Reed* couldn’t wait to tell his best friend what he had just learned. Manny follows Jesus and is glad that Reed also is growing in his new faith. In October, you were asked to pray for Reed, a new believer whose Muslim parents had forbidden him to be baptized. He has suffered misunderstanding from his family and even unnecessary mental health treatments because of his faith in Jesus. But Reed continues to hunger for the words of Jesus, the words of eternal life! Your IMB representative who is discipling Manny and Reed covets your intercession for continued wisdom as he mentors them. Also pray for God’s intervention in the lives of Reed’s parents; may they have grace to repent and believe the Good News. And pray that if it is God’s will, Reed will be able to find work and leave his parents’ house and hindering influence.
