| Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST September 16, 2013 “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.” (2 Chronicles 16:9a) WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2: 1-2). Please pray today for Prime Minister Luc-Adolphe Tiao of Burkina Faso (western Africa, north of Ghana). CENTRAL THAI OF THAILAND (tie) - “We can only stay for five minutes. We have to go to meet a customer and be his tour guide. We wanted to stop by to say that this Bible study group every Friday is our life. Jesus Christ gives us the strength to live from Friday to Friday, until we can come to fellowship and study God’s Word with you. Sometimes we cannot come because we must work so much just to have food and a place to sleep, but we always praise God for you.” The Central Thai Team writes: “These are words spoken by refugees seeking asylum in countries outside of their own Islamic lands where they can no longer live. God is leading some to encounter Christ while in Thailand, and we are seeing His power at work to bring some very ‘unexpected’ sheep into His fold--unexpected by us, but surely not unexpected by God! Pray for refugees around the world as God leads many into His kingdom as they seek asylum in lands very foreign to them.” ENGAGING CHURCHES - SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA - Missionaries serving on the Engagement Team write: “We met with kings during our recent ‘vision trip’ with three men from two Ohio churches as they came to verify that God was calling their churches to engage the A. people. These staunch Muslim people were very welcoming and hospitable as we drove down bush roads to visit the mosque-strewn A. villages. Out of 61,000 A. people in Benin and Togo, there are only six known A. Christians. Pray that these three men will develop a clear strategy of how to share Christ with the A. people, and also intercede for them as they endeavor to find like-minded churches in their area who will partner with them in engaging the A. people so they can maintain a nearly constant presence among the A. people. Pray for M, a former Muslim but now a Christian A. evangelist, as he and his small leadership team work together with the American Engaging Churches to see the A. people won to Christ.” For additional prayer requests, click here: Today’s Prayer (If you have difficulty with this link, please go to www.imb.org and click on the “Pray” tab, and then click on the “Today’s Prayer” link in the left-hand column.) |
