“We give thanks to You, God;we give thanks to You, for Your name is near. People tell about Your wonderful works.” (Psalm 75:1)

WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2: 1-2). Please pray today for King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia (southeastern Asia, between Thailand and Vietnam).

GUJARATI OF INDIA (goo-juh-RAH-tee) - “Are you trying to convert me?” the teenage boy asked. “No,” responded the young believer to his friend. “I just want to make sure that you get the chance to hear the Truth. I want you to know what I believe.” Pray for this young believer who shares the Word with his friends and longs for the day that they will follow Christ. He knows that soon he will leave Gujarat and worries that his friends won’t have any more opportunities to hear the Truth. Pray that others will come to share in Gujarat. Pray that the seeds planted by this young believer will take root and bear fruit in the lives of his friends.

SUB-SAHARAN AFRICAN PEOPLES - “To say that I found God is like saying that a mouse finds a cat!” C.S. Lewis used this graphic example to describe his conversion experience. He was explaining that God found him. Still, we can join in God’s “search” by being where He directs. The experience of A., a student at the Bible School in Luangwa, demonstrates this truth. Luangwa is a “boma” or county seat in Zambia that is located at the point where the Luangwa and Zambezi Rivers meet. Across the Luangwa River is the country of Mozambique, and across the Zambezi River is the country of Zimbabwe, so the school can make Christian training accessible to students in three countries. A. comes from Mozambique by walking four to five hours and crossing the Luangwa River by canoe--and there are hippos and crocodiles in the river! There are other barriers that A. must cross. He speaks no English, but knows the local dialect of Cinyanja (pronounced chin-NYAHN-jah). But because of the school’s location, leaders who are hungry to learn can overcome the obstacles and grow to better serve God and their churches. Why all the effort and expense to send missionaries to these hard-to-reach places? To join in the “search” with God. So pray for the Vines in Luangwa, the Adairs in Kaputa, the Kimbroughs in Isoka, and both missionaries and Zambians teaching in 25 other local Bible Schools in Zambia. Finally, ask yourself, “Who might God be ‘searching’ for near me?”
