| Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST September 19, 2013 “The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few. Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.” (Matthew 9:37-38) WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2: 1-2). Please pray today for Prime Minister Philemon Yang of Cameroon (western Africa, between Nigeria and Chad). HOKKIEN OF EAST ASIA AND BEYOND (HAWK-in) - “We covet your prayers for a pastors’ retreat for Hokkien ministry in Southeast Asia in October. This will possibly open up additional ministry and training opportunities as well. Pray that this will be an encouraging time for pastors that will lead to more leadership training venues. Workers are desperately needed. Pray to the Lord of the harvest for more Hokkien Christian workers to emerge from across East Asia and Southeast Asia.” PA OF COLOMBIA (pah) - The Pa people live in an area that is under the influence of the traditional church. Although there is some syncretism of the traditional religious practices and earlier beliefs, it is the traditional church that controls the holiday events and traditions in the local towns, and they expect everyone to participate. Recently those who have become believers--and who have declared that they will no longer contribute to and participate in the religious practices--have been denied the aid and funding that is channeled through the traditional church. The economic situation in the region has been difficult, and many people are without work and financial resources. Please ask God to provide a way for believers to maintain their families economically that will be a strong testimony to those nonbelievers who are watching them. Pray that they will see God as their provider and that His name will be glorified through His provision.
