| Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST April 21, 2014 “I cry aloud to the LORD, and He answers me from His holy mountain.” (Psalm 3:4) WORLD LEADERS - Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for Prime Minister Pedro Manuel Passos Coelho Mamede of Portugal (southwestern Europe, west of Spain). SUSU OF GUINEA (SOO-soo) - At the last training conference, believers were challenged to think about ways they could engage in spiritual conversations with their friends and neighbors. Because of that, some of the believers have developed an evangelistic video in which they share the story of the two sacrifices: the animal that God killed to cover Adam and Eve after their sin, and the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross for the sins of mankind. It is presented in a very culturally appealing way. They are hoping now that the video can become something that believers will show to their neighbors, and that it can create opportunities for them to share their personal testimonies. Pray that this video will be used as a tool for many to hear the Good News. UZBEKS OF POST-SOVIET CENTRAL ASIA (OOZ-beks) - “A once-prominent physician in the community, Kurtis* was self-confident and skeptical. After suffering a stroke, his character softened, and recently he has begun reading both the Quran and the Bible. His wife, Norene*, an educator, seeks truth through information, but her search is challenged by fear and community pressure related to her new role of primary caregiver for her husband, mother-in-law, and grandmother. This dear family, seeking peace and blessing from God, is encountering a mixture of truth, distortion, deception and superstition. We are continuing to share the Word of Truth with them so that they may know Jesus, who is the truth that can set them free. Pray that Kurtis*, Norene* and their sons will find the truth, peace, and blessing they seek by believing in Jesus (John 17:20-21).” (*pseudonyms) For additional prayer requests, click here: Today’s Prayer (If you have difficulty with this link, please go to www.imb.org and click on the “Pray” tab, and then click on the “Today’s Prayer” link in the left-hand column.) |
