| Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST April 9, 2014 “But from there, you will search for the LORD your God, and you will find Him when you seek Him with all your heart and all your soul.” (Deuteronomy 4:29) WORLD LEADERS - Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for President Ricardo Martinelli Berrocal of Panama (Central America). EUROPEAN PEOPLES - “Much of the world is looking toward Russia today with great concern. Relations between Ukraine and Russia could disintegrate even further. People in both countries are crying out, and most of them don’t have the hope for tomorrow that can only be found in Jesus Christ. God is calling out His people, the believers in these troubled nations, as well as us, their brothers and sisters in Christ, to intercede for the salvation of the lost and for His righteousness to reign. He is calling the church to repentance. He desires for His people, the church, to be unified in their obedience to the Great Commission. Partially in response to this crisis, God has led us to begin an Annual Day of Prayer for the Russian Cluster, to be held each year on May 1. Pray that God will use this situation to remind all of us that our hope is found only in Him, and that He has a plan for the nations, to bless and to save.” (A prayer guide and other resources for use on this special day are available on the website.) GUJARATI OF INDIA (goo-juh-RAH-tee) - Baptism is one of the ordinances, one of the acts that set apart the people of God. There are hundreds of believers in Gujarat who want to be baptized and are waiting for that opportunity. However, pastors in Gujarat are afraid to conduct baptisms. They worry about reprisal from authorities and about persecution. Please pray for the pastors, asking that they will stand firm in their convictions and act without fear. Pray for the believers, asking that they will also be strong and not afraid, and that they will boldly declare their beliefs. Please pray that authorities in Gujarat will cease persecuting believers and allow freedom of religion. XHOSA OF SOUTH AFRICA (KOH-sah) - “April in South African schools, unlike for those of you who live in the Northern Hemisphere, is the three-month mark of the school year. Fall is officially beginning, and students and teachers are finally in the routine of the new school year. By this time, the Student Christian Organizations or Christian clubs on campuses have determined the leadership for the year, discussed the vision for the year, and are meeting weekly or more frequently. Our Xhosa Student Ministry Team has had the unique privilege of working on three different Cape Town high school campuses over the past year. As relationships with student leaders have grown, we have noticed a common lack of awareness as to every believer’s sweet privilege and responsibility to be in God’s Word daily. Most rely solely on the teachings of pastors or whoever stands before them to share--willingly and often wrongly accepting anything spoken as truth. Please join us in praying as we seek to encourage within these students a genuine, all-consuming hunger and thirst for God’s Word--building a firm foundation on the ultimate source of truth.” “Open my eyes so I can see . . . my soul is starved and hungry, ravenous--insatiable for your nourishing commands . . . I’m absorbed in pondering your wise counsel. Yes, your sayings on life are what give me delight . . .” (Psalm 119:17-24, MSG).
