“I call to God, and the LORD will save me. I complain and groan morning, noon, and night, and He hears my voice.” (Psalm 55:16-17, HCSB)

WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2, NKJV). Please pray today for Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany (Central Europe).

Prayer requests from Eddie W. Cox, director of IMB’s Office of Global Prayer Strategy, to “Today’s Prayer” intercessors:

Thank you for clicking through to “Today’s Prayer” and praying with me.

This month I would like for you to pray specifically for two of the world’s 3000-plus unengaged, unreached people groups (UUPGs): the Ndonde of Tanzania and the Muko-Muko of Indonesia.

There are approximately 18,000 Ndonde people concentrated in southeastern Tanzania. They live very basic, rural lives. Drive 30 minutes through cashew tree farms, walk another 30 minutes through cornfields and forest, and climb to the top of a small rock outcropping and you may get a weak cell signal. The remoteness of their villages is a contributing factor to the lack of an evangelical witness among them. The majority of the Ndonde are Muslim. They have no access to evangelical print, audio or visual resources. Ask God to send out workers who will be willing to endure the hardships of reaching the Ndonde. Pray for an abundant harvest among them.

The 50,000 Muko-Muko people in Indonesia are very isolated. The roads into their area are difficult to travel. They are farmers, fisherman, hunters, merchants and craftsmen. Islam is their majority religion, but they also cling to animistic beliefs, worshipping nature and ancestors. There are evangelical resources available, but no one is currently engaging them with the Gospel. Pray for laborers that are willing to endure the harsh travel conditions that are required to reach the Muko-Muko. Pray for open doors for workers to live and minister among this people group.

(Prayer requests for UUPGs are uploaded to the CompassionNet app each Thursday behind the PRAYERthreads tab.)

Thank you for lifting up the Ndonde of Tanzania and the Muko-Muko of Indonesia before the Lord. Your prayers make a difference.

Most sincerely,

Eddie W. Cox, director
IMB’s Office of Global Prayer Strategy
