“But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great.” (Luke 6:35a, NKJV)

Hi, this is Eleanor Witcher of IMB’s prayer office, asking you to pray for unengaged, unreached people groups.

There are more than 400,000 Turkmen in Iraq. ISIS besieged the city of Amerli in northern Iraq because of hatred towards this minority people group. Christian material is available in their language.

Many job seekers from Pakistan go to Saudi Arabia. The number of Pakistani expatriates working there currently exceeds 1.5 million. While there, they are required to follow strict Islamic law. Non-Muslim worshipers risk arrest and punishment and Christian missionaries are not allowed, so it is very difficult to reach Pakistanis who live there.

Three of the five Lampung tribes of southern Sumatra, Indonesia, are completely unengaged: the Abung, the Sungkai, and the Way Kanan. Many of the other people groups on Sumatra are afraid of the Lampungese because of their reputation for thievery and violence.

When local believers are sent out on short trips to reach unengaged people groups in places far from the comforts of their own cities, they return with a new awareness of lost peoples within East Asia. These brothers and sisters come back with eyes opened to the minority peoples at their workplaces, schools, and other circles of influence, and their hearts begin to soften towards them.

* Please pray that the Father will continue to teach and motivate these East Asian believers to take the Gospel to minority peoples who have not yet heard of His Truth.

* Ask God to give wisdom to those with a heart for the Pakistanis living in Saudi Arabia and the Lampungese of Sumatra that doors for the Gospel will be opened to them.

* Ask the Lord to pour out His mercy on the Turkmen of Iraq.
