“I give thanks to my God for every remembrance of you, always praying with joy for all of you in my every prayer, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.” (Philippians 1:3-5, HCSB)

WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be  made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2, NKJV).  Please pray today for President Michel Martelly of Haiti (island southeast of Cuba).

SEREER OF SENEGAL AND THE GAMBIA (suh-RARE) - Church planting is a difficult endeavor in West Africa . . . even making disciples can seem like an overwhelming task when working among a large people group that is less than 1 percent evangelized. For years, the workers serving among the Sereer have had a dream to partner with one of the few existing Baptist churches in the country of Senegal in evangelism and church planting. This dream is becoming a reality, as the pastor of one of the churches in the capital city is advocating for sending a delegation on a “discovery trip” to the area where the Sereer live. He said that there were young men who had expressed a desire to serve and who had been commended by the church; they could be their church’s “feet on the ground” to join in the effort with the workers. Please pray for this church that has a desire to extend its reach and be on mission with God, asking that He will prove Himself faithful in providing the resources needed to embark on this journey. Pray for the young people who have expressed a desire to serve, asking that they will seek the Lord and follow Him with all of their hearts. Pray for the workers, asking that the Lord will give direction and discernment in developing this partnership. Above all, pray that God will be glorified as people come to Him and become disciples, and a new church is formed among the Sereer people.

SOUTHERN CONE CONNECTORS: ARGENTINA, CHILE, PARAGUAY AND URUGUAY - Workers in Chile ask you to pray for a shepherd for a small group of nine new believers in Putaendo. They write: “At the moment, there doesn’t seem to be anyone within the group with leadership qualities. It’s difficult to find a trained pastor who is willing to lead such a small group. Let’s believe that God has someone in mind and that He will bring this to pass.”

SUB-SAHARAN AFRICAN PEOPLES - Tomorrow is a special emphasis: “Day of Prayer and Fasting--November 19: Pray for West Africans affected by Ebola.” The Ebola death toll quickly approaches 5,000 souls in West Africa. Prayer is essential. Please pray for the Christian workers, volunteers and many who do not know Jesus who come in contact with this virus daily. Fast for one or more meals. During the time you would spend eating, pray and get involved: Ask the Lord to provide for the Ebola response projects in Liberia and Togo; write a letter to an Ebola survivor in Liberia; if your church had a scheduled trip to one of the countries impacted by this virus, find out if members of that people group have emigrated to the United States or Europe, and plan a mission trip there instead. Encourage others to participate in this day of prayer and fasting.
