| Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST November 18, 2013 “I have made you a light for the Gentiles to bring salvation to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 13:34b) WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for President Yahya Jammeh of The Gambia (western Africa, bordering the North Atlantic Ocean and Senegal) KASHMIRI MUSLIMS OF INDIA (KASH-meer-ee) - “For minorities in a predominately Islamic valley, it can be difficult to live their lives peacefully. They can be harassed for simply having materials in their homes related to their faith. A local believer was storing New Testaments, DVDs and tracts in a room that he rents. A group of religious teachers who’ve made it a priority to rid the valley of Christianity decided that these materials needed to be confiscated. So late one evening, these men, along with the ‘Special Task Force Police,’ came to his place and cut off the locks and removed all the materials. Bilal*, the local believer, was then called into the police department to meet with one of the head officers. He was questioned as to what these materials were and what his ‘job’ was in the valley. He related to us that although he was afraid, the Holy Spirit filled him with peace and gave him the words to speak to those authorities. In India, it is not illegal to have materials related to your faith. The authorities questioning Bilal realized this and began to apologize for the mistake that had been made. Until people in the Valley of Kashmir stand up to those who do not honor this law of the land, it will remain a place where those of different faiths will be persecuted. Please pray that the people of Kashmir will make a step towards ‘living in harmony’ with all faiths.” (*pseudonym) KOBE, JAPAN (KOH-bay) - With Christians numbering less than 1 percent in Japan, it goes without saying that very few ever darken the door of a church. Weddings and funerals are opportune times to see unsaved Japanese enter a church building. A leader of a house church in Kobe recently got married, and they took this opportunity to share the news of the Gospel with the guests. The mother of the bride accepted Christ as Lord at the wedding reception--praise the Lord! Please pray that this woman will be able to get baptized soon and share her testimony with her relatives and friends. At the same time, please pray for the many international missionaries in Kobe who share the Gospel in pre-marriage counseling sessions as a part of their wedding chaplain ministry.
