“I will praise You, Lord, among the peoples; I will sing praises to You among the nations.” (Psalm 57:9)

WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for President Mikheil Saakashvili of Georgia (between Turkey and Russia).

DEAF PEOPLES - Recently a worker in Africa met a Deaf man named Robbie*. Robbie is an awesome person; however, the Deaf who attend church see him as an outcast because he loves to dance, wears baggy pants, and cuts patterns in his hair. But Robbie has been instrumental in leading this worker to the Deaf and visiting places where the Deaf congregate for fellowship. This has allowed the worker to become loved and respected by many of the Deaf. The worker has invited Robbie to church, and he says that he will come. Robbie is searching. Pray for Robbie, asking that he will accept Jesus, who is the only one who can give him real peace. (*pseudonym)

TSWANA OF BOTSWANA (t’SWAN-ah) - “The Lord began to plant in the hearts of Americans Kasey and Allison, through many short-term volunteer trips to Botswana, a dream to plant an Orphan Care Center in Lobatse, Botswana,” writes the Tswana Team. “Shortly after graduating from college with their teaching degrees, they boarded a plane to come as volunteers for two years. They have now come to the end of their two years, and the Lobatse Orphan Care Center is a thriving, successful ministry in this small town through Lobatse Baptist Church. The Lord has been so good to bless them with 15 orphaned and vulnerable children from the Peleng area. This area is the poorest township in the whole country of Botswana. The children come from very tough backgrounds and have lost one or both parents--most of them due to AIDS. The goal before starting this project was to empower and equip the local church to sustain and support this ministry of caring for the orphans and widows (James 1:27). This has been the vision of Lobatse Baptist Church and will continue to be their goal as the three national women whom they have trained for the past two years really step up and take over the ministry. Please pray for this ministry and these three national women and 15 children whom the Lord has brought together. Pray that they will be unified in the Spirit daily, serving one another in love, and persevering onward, no matter what attacks the devil might make against them.”
