“However, they did not all heed the good news; for Isaiah says, ‘Lord, who has believed our report?’” (Romans 10:16, NASB)

Hi, this is Eleanor Witcher of IMB’s prayer office, joining you in prayer for students.

After six weeks of caring for their parents, tending the sheep, and helping in the fields, Mongolian students have returned to the universities. Many of them come from remote places that may be closed to foreign access or very hard to reach. During the school year, however, the students all reside in cities and on college campuses. During this time, they often encounter believers who will share with them the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Reaching the nations from university campuses is what IMB missionaries Chris and Melody Julian have committed to doing in South Brazil. This part of Brazil is home to millions of European descendants from Germany, Italy, Poland, Ukraine and many other countries. The Julians believe that the university campus is one of the most strategic places on earth to reach the nations. It is on campus where nations of young people come to study and where these nations are eventually sent out. This is the time of life when young people are teachable and questioning everything.

Only three weeks into the semester in Colombia, workers went on strike at the university attended by most of the students involved in Team CAFÉ’s indigenous student center ministry. Despite the uncertainties of the strike, new opportunities are opening for the team to enter the residence halls. One of the vice directors is a born-again believer, and he has invited Team CAFÉ to come every other week, giving them permission to spend time, to minister to the students, and to do what it takes to impact lives.

* Please pray for the Julians as they take Christ to the college campuses in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

* Pray that Mongolian students will believe and return home to share the Good News with their family, friends and neighbors.

* Pray that God will give Team CAFÉ the wisdom and the energy to move into this new opportunity.
