“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.” (James 1:17, NKJV)

WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2, NKJV). Please pray today for Chief Minister Ian Gorst of Jersey (island in the English Channel).

EAST ASIAN PEOPLES - “John* and I recently became friends. We’ve had him over a few times to eat supper with our family and were able to share the gospel with him on more than one occasion. He’s very interested in Jesus and has lots of questions. But his last text said, ‘I want to become a Christian and be baptized.’ (We’ve never spoken about baptism, so I’m not sure where he learned that.) ‘But I am a Communist; Communist Party members must not have religious beliefs. I am confused, can you teach me?’ Please pray that Holy Spirit will show me the best way to respond to John for his spiritual benefit, as he lives in a difficult political context. Ask God to conquer John’s fear and draw John to His side.” (*name changed)

PERSIAN PEOPLES OF THE WESTERN DIASPORA - “Our team has just completed our first year of working with Central Asians in London, and it’s becoming evident that issues related to Islam are not the only issues we’re having to deal with. Because of Darwin’s heavy influence on this culture (he was English, after all), evolution is an ever-growing, divisive tool that the evil one is using to distort people’s understanding of the Creation account in Genesis, chapter 1. This springboards into other questions about the veracity of Scripture: Are the miracle accounts true? Is there a literal, eternal hell? This is forcing us to address issues that we might not have had to address in a fully Muslim context. As we pour over Scripture in preparation for doing battle against this evolutionary worldview, please pray that God will give us wisdom, words of truth, and opportunities to discuss these issues with people here. Ask that we will keep our eyes on Christ, and that the Holy Spirit will move powerfully in hearts and minds as we share the Truth.”
