”Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men.” (Luke 2:14, NKJV)

WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2, NKJV). Please pray today for President Michael Daniel Higgins of Ireland (Western Europe).

PA OF COLOMBIA (pah) - The Pa people have very few social programs. Many of the parents have come to national missionaries Henry* and Dana* to share their frustration that their youth and children have nothing to do. Having nothing to do leads to many problems with alcohol and promiscuity. Two young national men have joined Henry and Dana to begin a soccer club. They have committed to work for two years developing this club. Praise God that the response has been tremendous! There are more than 180 children and young people who are now participating in this program. They have learned to trust this team of national missionaries, and they are now expressing an interest in listening to the Bible stories and talks about values. The parents are also beginning to come to the club and are asking Henry and Dana for help in how better to raise their children. Several of them have asked to begin to study the Bible as well. Pray as this outreach program grows. Pray for trust to continue to develop and for it to impact the lives of these children, teens and their families. Pray that people will come to trust in Jesus as their Lord and Savior through this soccer club. (*names changed)

TAJIKS OF AFGHANISTAN (TAH-jeeks) - Many Tajiks are worrying about how they’ll stay warm during the winter. Where will they find the money to buy coal, wood or gas? Some have already purchased their coal for the winter. It was brought in a truck and dumped in the street in front of their house. They added water to the coal, worked it into coconut-sized balls, let those dry in the sun for a few days, and then filled plastic bags with three balls each and tied them up, ready for use when they start using their stoves. This is the most common and cheapest way to heat their homes. As the season turns colder, the price for the coal, wood and gas will increase. Those with the means to buy it ahead of time will be thankful that they’ve already laid in their supply, but those who are poor will be even more concerned about how they’ll scrape together enough money to buy something to use for fuel. Ask the Lord to provide what is needed for the Tajiks to live through another hard winter. Pray that during these days of worry and hopelessness, they’ll cry out to God for help and recognize Him at work in their lives. While they’re cooped up for days during the winter months, pray that these families will tune their radios to a Dari/Farsi station that will present the gospel to them in their heart language. Ask God to soften their hearts to respond to the Good News of Jesus.
