“We also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ. We have now received this reconciliation through Him.” (Romans 5:11b, HCSB)

Hi, this is Eleanor Witcher of IMB’s prayer office, praising God with you in the salvation of new believers.

A Christian worker in the Eastern Plains of South Asia started reading through a book of Bible stories in the language of her focus people group as part of her language lessons. She was studying under a young woman from her city, an unbeliever who had also been helping some other workers and who had been hearing about Jesus from them. A month after they started the book, the worker and her helper read through the story of Jesus calming the storm and discussed the disciples’ incomplete faith in Him during the storm. The language helper observed that the disciples “didn’t have 100 percent faith.” She then went on to express her understanding that a Hindu claiming to believe in Jesus cannot also believe in Krishna, Brahma, Khali and millions of other gods if they are to have “100 percent faith.” The language helper then said that she was ready to place “100 percent faith” in Jesus because He is the only true God. Although she is now the only believer in her family, this young woman is thrilled to be a believer in Jesus.

Matt* is a Senegalese former Muslim who came to faith last year. He has been sharing his faith and has led two other Senegalese men to faith in Jesus, one of whom was also a Muslim.

Ten years ago, if the Bai of China were to have had any hope of hearing the Good News, it would have had to come from Western teachers. Now, God has raised up Chinese churches from within the country who are sending out believers to reach the Bai and Naxi peoples.

* Please pray for protection and passion for these Chinese evangelists.

* Pray for Matt, asking that God’s Spirit will guide him as he disciples these two new Senegalese believers.

* Rejoice in the “100 percent faith” of this South Asian language helper and pray that she will both grow in knowledge and share her faith with others.

*name changed
