Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST December 9, 2014 "For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." (Isaiah 9:6, NKJV) WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2, NKJV). Please pray today for Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan (eastern Asia). BAPTIST CONVENTIONS OF THE CENTRAL SAHEL (WEST AFRICA) - In partnership with Westside Baptist Church in Gainesville, Florida, the Benin Baptist Convention has sent workers to a Baptist church that was started in the stilt lake village of Ganvie, following volunteer medical clinics and a great response of the people to the message of Christ. Although the church started zealously in this overwhelmingly voodoo stronghold, leadership problems and nature have been used by Satan to discourage the work. Soon after the church was built, all the waterways to the church became impassable due to water weeds that occur six to nine months of the year. The enormous among of energy necessary to paddle or pole through these obstructions proved too great for the older generation that was the foundation of the church. Attempts were made to remove the weeds physically. Men chest deep in the dirty water dragged and, with much energy, threw the water-logged plants onto spongy, partial-land areas. But several days later, they had re-multiplied, creating the same havoc. The Benin Baptist Convention has changed the church leadership. Pray for Satan’s bondage over the Tofingbe people to be broken and for the church to grow despite obstruction. Petition for love, wisdom, grace and excellent leadership skills for the men leading the Tofingbe ministry. NORTH AFRICANS OF BELGIUM - Several North African women in a city in Belgium had come to faith in Jesus. However, each one thought that she was the only believer among the North Africans in the city. Through miraculous circumstances, God allowed the paths of these women to cross one by one. Indescribable joy! They began meeting together to encourage each other and to read God’s Word. They also began to have a burden for other North Africans in the city, and decided that their group could be a safe place for Muslims to learn more about Jesus. Ask God to continue to grow their knowledge of Him and their faith, and to let them cross paths with North Africans who are seeking the Truth. God brings the fruit, and He is infinite in love, wisdom and power!
