“Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation. Give heed to the voice of my cry, my King and my God, for to You I will pray.” (Psalm 5:1-2)

WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for President Denis Sassou-Nguesso of Republic of the Congo (western Africa, north of Angola).

JAMMU, INDIA (juh-MOO) - “Please lift up the believers of Jammu. Pray for unity and love and peace among them. There has been division recently that has the potential of affecting the work and the national partners. Please also ask for a ‘master trainer’ to be raised up for each of Jammu’s 10 districts who will be able to train believers to reach others in each of those districts. Currently there are no believers working in a few of Jammu’s 10 districts. Pray for more ‘Apostle Pauls’ to be raised up to train and reach more people for the Gospel through house churches that produce house churches. Pray for ‘Timothys’ for those ‘Pauls’ who will be obedient to the faith. Praise the Lord for a recent training session in which we saw more than 40 confess repentance and faith in Christ through the work of the trainees! Please pray that these new believers will grow in their faith and willingly gather relatives and friends to hear the teachings of Christ as our trainees go to their homes in search of ‘houses of peace’ (Luke 10:6) in which to teach.”

LOZI OF ZAMBIA AND NAMIBIA (LOH-zee) - We know very little of the spiritual battle that rages unseen around us. A Lozi man, L, has decided to follow Jesus. He has brought his family to church. He has begged his father to follow Jesus too. But his father has been sick. He even traveled over six hours to the capital city to seek the help of medical doctors. But the doctors there could do nothing. Back at home in his rural village in western Zambia, the father summoned the witch doctor. Perhaps the witch doctor’s dark magic could bring the relief that even modern medicine had failed to produce. L knew that this was not God’s will for his father. He pleaded with his father not to allow the witch doctor to come, but to no avail. Missionary Gerri Helton encouraged L. “Walk around your father’s house and village. Pray Satan out and ask for God’s Holy Spirit and power all over the area. Tell your father your testimony again.” L did pray long and hard as he walked around his father’s village. The witch doctor came anyway. But as the agent of the evil one squatted in the sand, preparing his magic potions, his eyes suddenly began to blur. “Oh!” he exclaimed in surprise. “There is ‘Something’ here. I cannot work my healing treatment. I must go!” Praise the Lord for this spiritual victory! Pray for L’s continued growth in his faith. Pray for his father to embrace Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
