Statistics show that nearly 99 percent of Europeans are living in spiritual darkness, but personnel are working hard to dispel the gloom by shining the light of Christ into that darkness. The process is slow and difficult, however, and a nearly impossible task for the less than 700 workers. Prayer is essential in order to break down the barriers of resistance and to make hearts hungry for and receptive to the truth. Around three quarters of a million teenagers call London home. Stepping into the trenches of life with young people and their families to communicate the gospel, members of the London Team partnered with others to start a youth center. They coach basketball, lead seminars for parents of teenagers, and organize new parenting communities. They have found that not only do the young people not know about Jesus, they are not even thinking about God or spiritual things. Nearly 80% do not believe there is a God. Darkness, ice, cold… these are the images that often come to mind when we think about the Nordic countries. It is not just the climate that is cold or the time of year that causes the darkness, however. There is also a spiritual darkness and hardened hearts that are cold towards the gospel. Members of the Nordic Cluster are seeking to reach students and young families through lectures and involvement in the arts. * Please pray that Christians in these Nordic countries will have courage and not be afraid to share the Gospel. * Ask our faithful God--the One who can do the impossible and unimaginable--to bring awakening to the people of Europe. * Join with this affinity group this weekend in a Day of Prayer for European Peoples.
