Through a long-term distribution project in the United Kingdom, almost 7,000 packets were given out (each packet containing a New Testament and a copy of the “JESUS” film). Also, a couple thousand multiple-language DVDs, as well as hundreds of English Bibles, were distributed. One of the results of the hundreds of conversations with people was 20 new followers of Jesus. In Cambodia, God’s Word is being proclaimed where it has never been before. Now the sound of one mosque’s loudspeaker is ringing out the Word of God. The newly translated Injil (New Testament) is being read aloud by the religious leader for his entire Cham village to hear. As a team was setting up in Macau, a courteous, educated young Chinese man saw signs indicating that the Bible was being offered as a gift. He walked up to the group and asked a team member to explain this book. On another day, a different team had just finished a fruitful morning of giving out Bibles to Chinese visitors before heavy rains came. As the team was leaving and being drenched by the rain, one of the team members said, “We just sowed the seed; now God is providing the water to help it grow!” The Southern Cross Project in Macau has distributed thousands of copies of God’s Word to Chinese tourists who visit the city. September through November will see many of these tourists visit Macau, and many volunteers will come to offer Bibles as gifts to these visitors. * Please pray that many will receive these gifts and that lives will be transformed. * Pray that as the message of salvation is being read out loud, God will call out many Western Cham of Cambodia to salvation. * Ask God to provide strength and language ability for those involved with the United Kingdom follow-up efforts. |
