"Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” (Matthew 28:19a)

WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for President Joseph Kabila of Democratic Republic of the Congo (central Africa, northeast of Angola).

NORTHERN AFRICAN AND MIDDLE EASTERN PEOPLES - After spending more than a month in prison for professing his faith and sharing the Gospel, a North African brother will attend his appeal hearing on October 10.  If convicted, he will face up to three years in prison.  Before and during this incident, multiple believers reported harassing phone calls, being followed, and being questioned about their beliefs.  The questioning has involved the offer of “protection” if names of other believers, both local and foreign, are given.  Pray for this young man’s attorney to speak with wisdom in response to the accusations and that the attorney himself would come to salvation. Pray that perfect love would cast out fear and that the young brother would be concise and confident when giving answers. “Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one,” (Colossians 4:6, NKJV). Pray for the other believers named in this case to remain firm in faith, wise during questioning, and diligent in sharing the Gospel.  Intercede for those enduring harassment to gather in His Name, be strengthened by His power, and continue to meet and encourage one another.  Pray that this hearing will result in a favorable judgment.

DAKAR, SENEGAL (dah-KAR) - Please pray for the churches in one community in Dakar. In late September, during the Sunday morning worship time, there were demonstrations against all the evangelical churches. The government has intervened and is investigating false accusations made against the churches. Those making the accusations are telling all the churches that they must close because “they don’t want them in their neighborhood.”

DEAF PEOPLES - There is a “Christian” cult growing in Thailand called Manmin. This group preys on the Deaf and exploits them in order to increase their numbers. A Deaf man from Malaysia is a missionary for Manmin. Pray that God will give workers who are ministering to the Deaf wisdom in knowing how to minister to those affected by this cult.

HUNGARIANS OF EASTERN HUNGARY - “Pastors here are often stretched beyond their limits while serving the people: Some work other jobs to support their families, and many pastor four or five churches in an area, with some traveling more than an hour between the towns,” writes the Eastern Hungary Team. “We are partnering with the Timothy Leadership Training Institute (TLTI) to provide practical training for pastors; the workshops will teach them how to train their people to join in the ministry of caring for one another. Pray for the October 11 and 12 sessions in Debrecen, asking that pastors will come and participate, and that the Lord will bless them as they implement what they’ve learned in their churches.”
