“Like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written, ‘You shall be holy, for I am holy.’” (1 Peter 1:15-16, NASB)

Hi, this is Eleanor Witcher of IMB’s prayer office, asking you to pray for Christians to resist sin.

Holiness . . . this is what God desires, but as society becomes more and more accepting of values contrary to biblical principles, Christians and churches are put under pressure to be more “tolerant” and to make compromises. Join with personnel serving in the Germanic Cluster in interceding that believers and churches in Germany and Austria will practice holiness.

Being a teenager is hard in any culture; but when living in the oppressively close conditions of Bangladesh, being a Bihari teenager can seem all the more difficult. One girl eloped at 13, had a baby at 15, and divorced three years later. When she married again, she left her daughter for her parents to raise. Another girl became involved with a boy who was using drugs. Her father left the family because of the shame his daughter’s relationship brought upon him, but he later returned. A third girl, age 16, who has studied at the Bihari tutorial center and has professed Isa (Jesus) as Savior, is interested in a Muslim boy from the community. Pray they will learn to approach marriage in biblical ways and that their parents will allow them to do so. The 16-year-old’s father has four wives, which is acceptable in this Muslim culture. Few Bihari girls are comfortable discussing boys and relationships with their mothers. One Bengali Christian couple listens and gives encouragement—ask God to give them wisdom and grace in counseling these teens.

* Please pray for Bihari Muslim girls that they will trust the perfect love that Isa (Jesus) has for them, allowing Him to be glorified through their lives.

* Pray that Christians in Austria and Germany will read the Word daily and adhere to God’s standards.

* Ask God to help you live a godly, holy life despite the temptations surrounding you.
