| A NOTE FROM THE PRAYER OFFICE: We experienced computer problems in recent days that affected our mailings. This mailing is being re-sent in case you did not receive it earlier. Thank you for your faithfulness to intercede for the lost around the world. Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST October 29, 2013 "May the LORD be praised, for He has heard the sound of my pleading.” (Psalm 28:6) WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for President Rafael Correa Delgado of Ecuador (northwestern South America). FULBE FUTA (FOUTA) JALON OF GUINEA (FUL-bay/FOO-tuh jah-lone) - “I believe what you say is true. Jesus is the way to God, but I cannot follow Jesus because I am afraid. There are many people who believe that Jesus is the way, but we all are too afraid to follow.” “It sounds to me like people are more afraid of men than they are of God.” “It is exactly as you say.” This is a conversation a worker had with a young Fulbe woman. Fear of man is a major stronghold of the evil one, and it keeps people from following the Truth. It is a true fear, because persecution is very real--but God is more real. Pray for courage for those who know that Jesus is the Truth, asking that they will trust Him completely and follow Him. Pray for people to fear God, not man. NORTHERN KHMER OF THAILAND (kuh-MER) - “We praise God that our Northern Khmer Team members have now all moved into our new location, and we are excited to begin working with the local fellowship. One exciting new development has been seeing the local fellowship open a new evangelism center. We are thankful to see their heart to reach the people of the city of Surin. Please pray that God will use this new ministry in a great way. Pray that He will lead many seekers to this ministry through the English classes we will start or vocational training that will be offered. Also pray that we will be able to form Bible studies to train and equip local believers and that we will have opportunities to do training or church planting-type seminars on a regular basis.” For additional prayer requests, click here: Today’s Prayer (If you have difficulty with this link, please go to www.imb.org and click on the “Pray” tab, and then click on the “Today’s Prayer” link in the left-hand column.) |
