Earlier this year, Pastor M. had the chance to travel with a cross-cultural worker to a church-planting movement forum. At that training, one of the men taught the concept of the “hundredfold man.” The teacher encouraged each church planter present to seek the person who would yield a hundredfold and then spend time with that person. As Pastor M. considered each one the Lord had given him to mentor, one person kept coming to mind. With Pastor M.’s intentional mentoring and encouragement, in one month this “hundredfold man” shared the Gospel with approximately 250 people in Sri Lanka and many prayed to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. These new believers are now being formed into groups and being discipled.  Five years after ending the Leadership Equipping and Development (LEAD) program in Sri Lanka, trainers returned to visit some of the participants. What a blessing it was to discover that about 75 percent of those who have participated through the years are currently involved in full-time ministry, most of them as pastors. These former participants expressed a desire for the team to return with the LEAD program because they want others to have the same opportunity to meet bi-annually to study the Word together and share in a sweet fellowship that serves to encourage them.  * Please pray for the LEAD team as they make preparations to resume training in Sri Lanka in 2014. * Pray for Pastor M. to continue to mentor this Sri Lankan, teaching him how to move these new believers from discipleship groups to healthy house churches. * Training is occurring all over the world--Eastern Hungary, Madagascar, among the Karamajong and the Lugbara of Uganda, the Samburu of Kenya, the Hokkien of East Asia--ask God to strengthen church leaders as they equip themselves in the Word.
