“Know that the LORD has set apart the faithful for Himself; the LORD will hear when I call to Him.” (Psalm 4:3)

WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for President Ikililou Dhoinine of Comoros (Indian Ocean islands, between Mozambique and Madagascar).

HO CHI MINH CITY, VIETNAM (HOE-chee-men) - “This Thursday, October 10, 2013, marks our Global Day of Prayer for Ho Chi Minh City. We set it specifically as ‘10/10’ to highlight the fact that in this city of 10 million people, a lost person dies and goes to a Christ-less eternity every 10 minutes of every day. The only way that statistic can be turned around is through the work of God in this place, as prompted by your prayers. We depend on your prayers, and we plan our work counting on the spiritual support they give. Through your prayers, the Gospel is being proclaimed in all 24 districts of this city. Through your prayers, those who have heard the Gospel but not yet believed are being given more information and gathered in studies especially designed for those seeking. Through your prayers, new believers are being baptized. Through your prayers, believers are being discipled to form into churches that multiply. Through your prayers, God’s name is being glorified in this dark city that’s so much in need of the Gospel. Please join us in prayer on this important day for Ho Chi Minh City. (Contact us for a prayer guide for the city.)”

NAGOYA, JAPAN (NAH-goh-yah) - “After about two months of leading a Bible study for the homeless in inner-city Nagoya, Matt is encouraged by signs that God is working,” writes the Nagoya Team. “The group of about 10 men has gone from barely talking during the Bible study to actively participating. Praise the Lord! The few believers and several others who seem close to making a decision to follow Christ have stepped up rather quickly and are now carrying a good part of the discussion. Praise Him! Please pray that God will continue moving so that those close to trusting Jesus will do so now, and that the Christians in the group will continue to step up and also begin leading the Bible study. Pray, too, that everyone in the group will share what God is teaching them in the Bible study with those around them who need to hear it. Since this Bible study is being held outdoors, pray that God will provide a place to meet that will shelter the group from the rain and the coming cold temperatures of winter. Thank you for your prayers!”
