| Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST October 18, 2013 “LORD, You have heard the desire of the humble; You will strengthen their hearts. You will listen carefully.” (Psalm 10:17) WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for President Nikos Anastasiadis of Cyprus (island south of Turkey in Mediterranean Sea). EUROPEAN PEOPLES - Imagine walking down a street in a neighborhood with 100 homes with one person living in each house. If you are in Europe, that means that you will encounter only one believer in that entire community, since 99 percent of Europeans don’t have a personal relationship with Christ. In fact, more people go to church on Sunday in China than in the whole of Europe (GoogleFacts@GoogleFacts, 18.8.13). Millions of people are living on this continent without knowing about God’s love for them, without knowing that His Son died for their sins, and without the hope, peace and joy that can be found in Him. Will you join with the European Peoples affinity group for a Day of Prayer on October 20, 2013, praying fervently that every European person will have an encounter with our Lord and Savior that will change their lives for all eternity? Intercede that our personnel will boldly proclaim the Gospel and that a spiritual awakening will sweep through the nations of Europe. (More information and a prayer guide are available on the website.) TSWANA OF SOUTH AFRICA (t’SWAN-ah) - F slowly unties her colorful head wrap to reveal the row of stitches on the side of her head and behind her ear. There are bruises and bite marks on her arms. Her husband overheard her plans to go to church with a fellow Zimbabwean--a man. He became insanely jealous and beat her with a chair and a wooden plank. F had come to South Africa in search of a better life. Like many other women in this area, she became involved with a man who works at the local mine. He had a steady income. This provided stability for F and her family back in Zimbabwe. She didn’t foresee the stitches. Pray for F to be strong in her faith and to share the Word of God with other women who need to hear. Pray for her husband to realize his need for a Savior.
