| Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST March 10, 2014 "My aim is to evangelize where Christ has not been named, so that I will not build on someone else’s foundation, but, as it is written: ‘Those who were not told about Him will see, and those who have not heard will understand.’” (Romans 15: 20-21) WORLD LEADERS - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for Prime Minister Abdelillah Benkirane of Morocco (northwestern Africa). KHARKOV, UKRAINE (HAR-kov) - Several years ago, the members of Team Kharkov were given the opportunity to begin the first study of Beth Moore’s book “Breaking Free” with a group of international students from New Hope International Church. Since then, Ukrainian believers have asked for opportunities to study the material in Russian, with one group meeting two years ago for six months, and another group finishing their 10 weeks of lessons (which have taken a year to complete) in February. Leaders from this group have shared the material with women in their churches, and now five additional groups are meeting throughout the city. Pray for each woman who has chosen to allow the Word of God to penetrate the strongholds in her own life through this study. Ask the Lord to continue to change hearts and lives as women gather together throughout the Kharkov region, opening their lives to the Lord and to others as never before. SUB-SAHARAN AFRICAN UNENGAGED PEOPLES - “The Loma (pronounced LOH-mah) are a people group who live deep in the northwestern forests of Liberia. Satan has a stronghold in this area, but there are several small pockets of believers who have been growing in number. Every morning before sunrise, they gather in their small, dark church building to sing, pray, and have a short devotion. Around midnight one night while visiting one of these villages, I heard the tinkling of a bell by someone who was running around the village. I later learned that this bell signified that the devil was about to come out of the sacred forest and that whoever opened their door would be harmed. The devil’s secret society decided that they were losing too many of their members to Jesus. One morning as the believers were gathered inside, the ‘runner’ came by, tinkling the bell, but this time he went to the door of the church and demanded that they open it. The believers refused. The door was busted down and two leaders were grabbed and taken to the forest, where they were chained without food for three days. This has become a frequent practice in recent months, and now the believers are being told that they are forbidden to worship in the village. Please pray that the believers will remain strong and that their faith will grow. Ask the Lord to intervene with justice and power, and pray that the devil’s troops will continue to decrease for the glory of the Lord.” For additional prayer requests, click here: Today’s Prayer (If you have difficulty with this link, please go to www.imb.org and click on the “Pray” tab, and then click on the “Today’s Prayer” link in the left-hand column.) |
