In Southeast Asia, a Deaf man came to help disciple and train two partners by teaching the StoryOne method of crafting Bible stories in their heart language. These two Deaf partners have completed seven of the 21 stories plus one additional that has not yet been videotaped. But since the first meeting several months ago, which seemed so promising, these national believers have been less enthusiastic and are less willing to return to complete the video and work on the stories. In East Asia Deaf are involved in a special training camp in which they are also learning the StoryOne method of telling God’s stories to their own people. They seek God’s wisdom for those who are teaching and understanding for those attending. In December, Deaf believers met for a StoryOne camp in South Africa. We prayed for the Deaf to craft the Bible stories in the heart language of their people and videotape all 21 stories. Praise the Lord that although the group did not complete all the stories, they did complete several on video. It was challenging for the group to put forth the effort, but they were unified and agreed on the signs to be used for each story. Another StoryOne camp is being planned soon, probably late April. Dates and location are still being determined. The Lord has already provided eager brothers and sisters to come, craft Bible stories in the heart language, and film the stories to be distributed to the Deaf. * Please pray now that the editing work will be completed for future distribution of the stories on DVD. * Ask God to remove the obstacles in Southeast Asia so that the team can complete the remaining stories. * Pray for the Deaf to have a heart of deep compassion as they can reach other with the Gospel.
