“May God be praised! He has not turned away my prayer or turned His faithful love from me.” (Psalm 66:20)

WORLD LEADERS - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for King Abdallah II of Jordan (Middle East, southeast of Israel).

AMHARA OF ETHIOPIA (ahm-HAR-ah) - Please pray for the salvation of the Amhara of Ethiopia who listen to the “memory cards” they have been given for their cell phones. Each memory card contains all the Chronological Bible Stories, the “JESUS” film, the “Magdalena” film, the “Creation to Christ” story with pictures, the audio New Testament, the entire Bible written in Amharic, discipleship Bible stories, and 150 songs that are Scripture based and are in the Orthodox style. People with these cards can “blue tooth” (send) them to other phones. They can spread the Gospel and God’s Word to friends and family via the phone. This is not expected to replace “mouth-to-mouth” evangelism, but it’s a great way to get out the Gospel and the Word of God! God can transform lives via His Word. Pray that this memory card content will be sent out to multitudes of Amhara.

OSAKA, JAPAN (OH-sah-kah) - In Japan, “Coming of Age Day” is celebrated throughout the country on the second Monday in the month of January. This is when boys and girls who will turn 20 within the year are recognized as adults. On this day, you can see some of these young men--but mostly the young women--parade through town in their traditional attire. The women will wear very beautiful and expensive kimonos that, if purchased, can be very costly, ranging from US$3,000 to US$10,000. Missionaries in Osaka will go out to engage these young people in conversation as they ask to take their picture, and then will give them a gift packet, including a CD and a Gospel tract, which will tell them of the love of Jesus. Pray for God to bless this special time of outreach.
