Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord.” (Psalm 40:3, HCSB) Hi, this is Eleanor Witcher of IMB’s prayer office, giving thanks with you for this New Year and new beginnings. Young Deaf believers need spiritual Deaf leaders to teach them God’s Word in their heart language. Pray for Adrian*, a Deaf leader, to have wisdom and discernment as he teaches in a new Deaf church.  Five years . . . five long years is how long the current team has been in Marseille. The ground has been hard, but has been prayed for, tilled, seeded and sown in as many ways as they could imagine. They’ve spent many years pleading, begging the Lord to move, and pouring out ourselves in prayer over a movement of the Holy Spirit. Is it time for some reaping? Currently there are two small groups meeting and studying the Word. They are young disciples and not-yet believers asking questions for themselves for the first time.  A house church in Catalonia needs to move, since the basic living room where they meet is no longer big enough. They want to grow even more, so they have found a building to rent. It needs some renovations, and the town’s law demands that an engineer and an architect sign off on the blueprints before city hall will grant the necessary permits. The signed blueprints cost more than the church can currently afford. This particular building presents several benefits: It will have reasonable monthly payments, it’s about a block away from the train station, the restroom is wheelchair accessible, and all the electrical wiring is finished. Church members are willing to give it a fresh paint job and other small upgrades.  * Please pray for the Lord’s provision for a suitable meeting place for this growing Catalonian congregation. * Intercede for these two young groups as they consider combining to become a new church in Marseille, France.  * Pray that other Deaf will desire to be leaders and will answer God’s call to help lead this new Deaf church.  (*pseudonym)
