“God has listened; He has paid attention to the sound of my prayer.” (Psalm 66:19)

WORLD LEADERS - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan (eastern Asia).

TAJIKS OF AFGHANISTAN (TAH-jeeks) - The Tajiks (pronounced TAH-jeeks) are Afghanistan’s second-largest ethnic group, and historians believe that they are probably Central Asia’s original Persian population. They speak a Persian dialect known as Dari, a name derived from King Darius in the Old Testament Book of Daniel. Today more than 8 million Tajiks live in Afghanistan, particularly in the northeast and the west and in Kabul. During the last three decades of war, many Tajiks have sought refuge in neighboring countries. Tajiks are overwhelmingly Muslim, and their faith plays a very important role in their daily lives, providing a common framework and basis for social ethics. Only an estimated .01 percent of Tajiks are Christians. They gather secretly in small groups, knowing that they face persecution and even death if their faith is exposed. Please pray for the salvation of the Tajiks of Afghanistan.

UDMURTS OF RUSSIA (ood-MERTS) - The long-awaited, complete Bible in Udmurt is currently being printed. Praise God that the printed copies will soon be sent to Udmurtia, where, for the first time, Udmurts will be able to read God’s written Word from Genesis to Revelation in their own language! Pray that Udmurts will “rejoice at your word like one who finds great spoil” (Psalm119:162), and find hope and salvation through Jesus Christ.
