He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” (John 8:12, NKJV) Hi, this is Eleanor Witcher of IMB’s prayer office, asking you to pray for women. This month, 10 women will learn to sew through the Light for Women vocational sewing training program in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This is the third session since the program started. Those who have completed the first two sessions are seeking jobs sewing or tailoring. The Holy Spirit is certainly reminding them of the Bible teachings they have heard and what those stories mean. At the start of each sewing lesson, the women hear a story from the Bible in chronological order, starting with Creation and continuing through the resurrection of Isa (Jesus). At least one woman from each of the previous sessions has placed her faith in Isa as Savior. Pray that these new believers will become firmly established in their love for Him and proclaim His truth to others. In Chittagong, Bangladesh, birthdays are not remembered or kept. True ages are really not known. The legal marriage age for a girl is 16. However, girls are forced to marry much younger than that. Families are forced to let their daughters go for financial reasons. God has brought young ladies from Muslim and Hindu families to know Him as Lord and Savior. They do not want to marry nonbelievers but will be forced to do so unless given a place to grow, learn, and help provide for their families. * Please ask the Lord to give His clear wisdom, leadership, and direction as to whether a girls’ hostel needs to be started where these girls can continue their education, be given more in-depth discipleship, and produce handicraft products to sell to help provide for their families. * Intercede for the women in this third sewing session that they will learn to sew well and find jobs so they can help their families by earning an income. * Pray for the women of Bangladesh that they will discover and follow Jesus, the Light of the world. |
