| Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST January 15, 2014 “But as for me, my prayer is to You, O LORD, in the acceptable time.” (Psalm 69:13a) WORLD LEADERS - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for President Anote Tong of Kiribati (islands in the Pacific Ocean, south of Hawaii). AMERICAN PEOPLES - Give thanks to God that the first session of leadership training for indigenous Christians was attended by believers from six different ethnic communities! Please pray that those who attended that workshop will receive what they learned and share it with others of their own community. In February, the Embrace Church from North Carolina will return to Colombia for their third session of teaching English to teachers of English in Colombian schools. This church has embraced a particular indigenous group; however, in the last session, which was held in November, no indigenous teachers from this (or any) people group were present. Please pray that God will work out all the logistics and communications necessary for indigenous teachers to attend the third session. Pray that all who attend will come to know the Father and His Son whom He sent. EASTERN PLAINS PEOPLES OF SOUTH ASIA - A few months ago in the plains of Bihar, a woman heard the Good News for the first time. Upon hearing, she believed, and cast aside a necklace given to her by a local witch doctor. She gave up the protection offered by false gods, a protection couched in fear and lies, for the freedom Jesus provides. While the church rejoices and this woman now worships God in freedom, the evil one has not stopped his attacks on her. Her village has persecuted her, at times even refusing to allow her to drink from the well. Praise the Lord for saving individuals in the plains of Bihar, and pray that as He has rescued them from sin and death, He will give them perseverance and victory over persecution. Ask that through the testimony of people such as this woman, many will be rescued from their sin and come to know the Savior!
