| Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST January 7, 2014 “Tell to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and His strength and His wondrous works that He has done.” (Psalm 78:4b) WORLD LEADERS - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for Prime Minister Portia Simpson-Miller of Jamaica (island southeast of Cuba). HONG KONG AND MACAU, CHINA (ma-COW) - The beginning of 2014 is a good time to follow-up on people who attended various programs and events held during the Christmas holiday. University students in Hong Kong attended weekend outreaches throughout December, hearing personal testimonies from lives changed by Jesus. Some casino workers in Macau attended a Christmas party in a private home, hearing perhaps for the first time about the true meaning of Christmas. Many people from both Hong Kong and Macau attended Christmas events held throughout both cities. Pray that God’s people in both cities will be faithful to follow-up on those who attended these events, and ask that a huge harvest will occur! KANO KATSINA FULBE OF NIGERIA (KAH-no kat-SEE-nah FUL-bay) - “As our Kano Katsina Fulbe leaders begin the New Year, visiting existing fellowships of believers to disciple, strengthen and encourage them, as well as train leaders and evangelize the lost, they ask you to pray for the trips will they make. Some of these fellowships are located in remote areas over very bad roads that will require them to ride for hours on the back of motorcycles that jostle and ‘shake you to the bone.’ Other places have no roads at all and require walking for hours to get there. They need prayer for endurance over the long, hard journeys they will make. They need wisdom for the teaching they will do. They need the Holy Spirit’s guidance as they share the Gospel with those who are lost. They need protection from those who would persecute them. Above all, they need protection from the evil one who seeks to destroy God’s work and people. Won’t you join us in lifting them to the Father?” For additional prayer requests, click here: Today’s Prayer (If you have difficulty with this link, please go to www.imb.org and click on the “Pray” tab, and then click on the “Today’s Prayer” link in the left-hand column.)
