“Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” (Jeremiah 33:3, NKJV)

WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for Prime Minister Perry Christie of The Bahamas (islands off southeastern Florida coast).

MOROCCAN ARABS OF MOROCCO (muh-RAH-kan) - A country girl goes to the city for the summer. Of her own free will, Samira* is tirelessly helping needy family members, from the elderly and sick to the young and helpless. Initially she had some freedom, but now she is not allowed to visit with friends or other family members. Samira is a believer; her family members are not. Samira loves Jesus; her family respects Him as a prophet. Samira lives for Jesus. Pray for free time for Samira so that she can be refreshed and encouraged by her believing friends and other family members in the city. Pray for perseverance as she faithfully reads and listens to Scripture in secret. Ask the Holy Spirit to fill her with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control, as her daily life is her testimony of new life in Jesus to her extended family members. Her previous verbal testimony and joyful sharing is part of what prompted her current restrictions. “. . . though now for a short time you have had to struggle in various trials so that the genuineness of your faith--more valuable than gold, which perishes though refined by fire--may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 1:6-8, HCSB). Ask for God’s abundant blessings on Samira as she serves this summer. (*pseudonym)

SONGHAI OF WEST AFRICA (SONG-high) - During the second week of August , six women from a church in Kentucky will be in Niger to help the Songhai Team evangelize areas where there are no female believers. Out of more than 300 Songhai believers in Niger, less than 30 are women. There is a desperate need for women to hear the Gospel and respond to the truth of God’s Word by accepting Jesus as their Savior. Many women who come from a Muslim culture do not believe that they have choices or a right to choose what they believe. There have been many women who have heard and wanted to confess Christ, but have not done so due to fear of persecution from their husbands. Please pray that the team of female volunteers will have many opportunities to share Christ with women who have never heard. Pray that the Songhai women will be open and receptive to the Gospel and that the Lord will soften their hearts to receive His Truth. Ask that many Songhai women will choose to follow Christ without fear of persecution.
