The ‘new normal’ in work among Yazidi Kurds
AUDIO: Worker David Edwards (name changed) has worked among the Kurds for 14 years. While opportunities to witness to the Yazidi population are more restrictive these days, there is a “new normal” in presenting the Truth of the Gospel. Edwards challenges Southern Baptists to step up to this “amazing strategic opportunity.”

VIDEO: Desperate cry
A desperate cry reverberates worldwide for government leaders and especially Christians to step up and help stop the killing that’s creating a humanitarian crisis in Northern Iraq. Tens of thousands of Yazidi Kurds have run for their lives. Many are now trapped on a mountaintop near Sinjar, Iraq.

U.S. churches can answer Ukraine’s cry for help and hope
With hearts broken for Ukraine, some U.S. churches are determined not to forget their brothers and sisters in the war-torn country. Missionaries in that region of the world say there is still much that churches back home can do. Learn more through stories, photos and videos – and take action now.

Lights among darkness
In a northern Thai village far off the beaten path, a group of believers stand up for Jesus among their neighbors and family members whose lives revolve around spirit worship. Most Christians face persecution from their families. Read about their boldness in this divided community. Find photos and video.

Missionary learns to love a pimp
Interacting with a pimp leads IMB missionary Martha Richards to confront her anger. And forgiving him takes a reminder that Jesus died for him, too. Read more of Martha’s journal stories, and learn how to speak up concerning human exploitation.

God-sized miracle
Among every 100 porteƱos, or “people of the port,” in Buenos Aires, Argentina, only five have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. IMB missionaries work alongside national Baptist partners and pray God will change the world beginning with lives changed among Buenos Aires’ 14 million residents. Read their stories and see their faces in video and photos.

Put "Mission trip safety" in the subject line.

WorldView: The idiotic call to go
American medical missionaries who contracted Ebola in West Africa were scorned by media loudmouths for their “idiotic” actions to treat sick people in a Third World country. Hearing excuses for ignoring Christ’s command to go into all the world reminds columnist Erich Bridges of another medical missionary: Bill Wallace. He never made it home. “Heroic” doesn’t begin to describe what Wallace accomplished.
