“(God our Savior) desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:4, NKJV)

WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for President Serzh Sargsian of Armenia (east of Turkey).

CARACAS, VENEZUELA (cah-RAH-kahs) - In the midst of crisis, God is at work in Caracas! “Toma” is the term used by Venezuelan Baptists to designate annual evangelization efforts in different regions. A 2014 “Toma,” an emphasis on Caracas, falls on August 4-10. But this year is different: There is a concerted training effort to equip believers to begin houses of prayer with family members and their circle of influence. Just imagine “what could be” if every street and apartment building was saturated in prayer! As churches from outside the city arrive to help, they will divide up and visit the houses of prayer already in formation, share testimonies and the Gospel, and help support where God is at work. Each house of prayer has the potential of becoming a discipleship group, a cell church, or a simple/house church. The Spanish version of the song “God of this City” by Chris Tomlin has been chosen as the theme song, believing that God is the Light in the darkness, the hope and the peace that Caraquenos desperately need. Pray as training continues for faithful, available and trainable disciples. And as the song says, yes, “greater things have yet to come” as we continue to seek Him.

SOUTH ASIANS OF CANADA - India's population is now more than 1.2 billion, and Hindi speakers, including those living in Canada, need the message of Jesus Christ! Please keep praying for the translation of the updated Hindi New Testament. A select group of men, women, theologians, evangelists and writers are in the final stages of the translation process. They have been preparing for one month and will come together on August 4-6 at a conference in India. Ask God to give them unity in the Holy Spirit as they update "the Word of truth." Pray also that the printing of this New Testament will be completed soon, and that the Hindi New Testament will be used to spread the Gospel among Hindi speakers.
