| Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST August 18, 2014 “He will stand and shepherd them in the strength of Yahweh, in the majestic name of Yahweh His God. They will live securely, for then His greatness will extend to the ends of the earth. He will be their peace.” (Micah 5:4-5a, HCSB) WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for Prime Minister Elio Di Rupo of Belgium (northwestern Europe). CITY OF SOUTHERN SONG, CHINA - Thank you for praying last month for those living in a leper colony. Praise God that your requests for them have been heard! Medicine, supplies, and the message of hope will soon be made available to the people with leprosy. ENGAGING CHURCHES - SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA - As terrorist extremists concentrate on destroying lives, Engaging Churches in the United States are determined to see people receive new life! Security risks disallow the revealing of real names, but a U.S. Baptist church engaged the Tasyen*, an Islamic group of approximately 186,000, in 2008. Small teams of three or four arrived four times a year, manned with Scripture stories and Scripture recordings in the Tasyen language, to share Christ among them. Fifty-three of their members have personally traveled to the Tasyen. In their church’s lobby hang 3x4-foot pictures of the Tasyen to keep the members focused on their mission. They involve all members of all ages: the youth pastor and youth have walked among the Tasyen; children in Vacation Bible School give; the Women on Mission are fully engaged; the church’s prayer guide features the Tasyen monthly along with requests from the traveling teams, and 200 people meet weekly to pray for these. Each Tasyen team member is required to enlist 10 faithful daily prayer partners for the trip. When the U.S. church began ministering among the Tasyen, there were 12 Christians; now there are 21! In reaching out to the Tasyen, another Islamic group, the Kanlino*, responded--50 have believed! Now secret discipleship is being carried on, with Kanlino believers discipling the Tasyen! God awesomely weaves together His amazing plan! Praise Him, and pray for thousands of Tasyen to surrender to Christ. Pray for discipleship to grow them deeply in Jesus.
