In the Horn of Africa where Zefeto people are listening to the audio New Testament, believing in Jesus, gathering in house churches, and enjoying changed lives, a religious leader from another area stood at a gathering, over a loudspeaker, forbade the people to listen and accused those “changed ones” of being heretics. The people stood against this man and appealed to a higher official for permission to continue. The accuser was subsequently required to announce from the loudspeaker that the “changed ones” were telling the truth and that the audio New Testament was indeed a Holy Book. The believers are rejoicing. Their friends and neighbors are now asking for audio Bibles. Khudar* and his wife were the first friends some believers met when they moved to a new area. They were the first Bedouin people of Northern Africa to invite them into their home and the first to invite them to a holiday celebration. Khudar was also one of the first men to ask about spiritual matters. He is searching. If he chooses to follow Jesus, Khudar may lose his family, his job, or even his life. Enise* and her husband own a coffee shop in an area of town highly populated with their people group. Someone shared Truth with her, and she believed it, but she is afraid to let her husband or family know about her newly found faith. She is not alone. * Please pray for the new believers who are being discipled and trained, and who are dealing with a fear of living their faith visibly before family and friends. * Pray for Khudar and others like him who are searching for Truth, answers to life’s problems, and peace for their restless hearts. * Thank God for this season of openness in the Horn of Africa and ask God to build up the believers as they walk in the fear of the Lord and not man.
