“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.” (John 14:26, ESV)

Hi, this is Eleanor Witcher of IMB’s prayer office, asking you to pray for medical concerns.

In May, a volunteer team from Mississippi chose to travel to the Ukraine in the midst of uncertainty and conflict. The construction crew labored each day in an unstable area. The medical team ministered to more than 350 people in small villages and small regional city centers. Six individuals chose to follow Jesus during the week.

A medical/veterinary/evangelism team from Louisiana joined together with local medical/veterinary personnel, as well as local pastors, to minister in six different areas of Zimbabwe over seven days. The medical team, which had come two years ago, was thrilled to be reunited with a 12-year-old girl who had been close to death. But thanks to donors, she was rushed to Harare, the capital city, for surgery. She and her parents walked a long way to thank the team for what they had done for her. During the medical team’s recent ministry time, more than 600 people prayed to receive Christ. A Zimbabwe Baptist Convention evangelist believes that this will be the beginning of six new churches in the vast district.

Bangalore Baptist Hospital is leading an effort to bring together church leaders from several denominations in India and Christian physicians to discuss the status of mission hospitals all over the country. The number of these hospitals has declined from more than 800 to less than 200 in the last 50 years, and most of those remaining are doing poorly.

* Please pray for a revival of these hospitals so that they may once again provide care for many poor people in the name of Jesus, resulting in transformed lives and families.

* Pray that the follow-up being done by local pastors, as well as a team from Mississippi, will help consolidate the new believers into churches.

* Continue to pray for local churches of the Ukraine as they reach out into their communities.
