“LORD, God of my salvation, I cry out before You day and night. May my prayer reach Your presence; listen to my cry.” (Psalm 88:1-2, HCSB)

WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung of Vietnam (southeastern Asia).

LUGBARA OF UGANDA (loog-BAR-ah) - Pray for approximately 70 Baptist churches scattered across the West Nile region of Uganda. This is a huge area about the size of West Tennessee between the Mississippi and Tennessee Rivers. Pray for Baptist leaders who have a vision for greater unity, cooperation, and fellowship among Baptists in West Nile. They have called other leaders to join them on July 16-19 for a dialogue and conference about how to overcome the barriers of geography, lack of communication and transportion, as well as broken relationships. Their vision is that reaching unreached areas with the Gospel can be better done together in a unified strategy. Pray for members of the Lugbara Team who are seeking to encourage, challenge, and equip these leaders.

OSAKA, JAPAN (OH-sah-kah) - Pray for a volunteer team from Mississippi that will be coming to help missionaries in Osaka. They will be prayerwalking, doing street evangelism, distributing 8,000 tracts to mailboxes that offer a free DVD called “The Hope,” and helping with various classes in an apartment building where missionaries reside. They will also be doing pioneer work alongside a pastor in a nearby city. The pastor will host a Vacation Bible School in his church building for elementary school children in the neighborhood who most likely have never been to a church. There will also be an outreach in the park, in hopes of reaching those children with the Gospel and inviting them to the VBS as well. Pray for safe travel, protection, and good health for the volunteers, missionaries and all who will be helping. Also petition for unity among the team and for a harvest of souls who will receive follow-up and be discipled once the volunteers return home (John 17:21).
